"Quality and value are over-used, over-stated words. In Salvin Dental's case though, they're about as appropriate a description for their products as I can come up with." Dr. Mark Setter Periodontist, Port Huron, MI

Job Opportunity

Medical Sales - Implant Dentistry

Executive Summary - 2 Key Account Sales Positions

Salvin Dental Specialties, a leader in surgical instruments for Implant Dentistry, is adding two qualified Key Account Managers to our team.

Our Key Account Managers are based in Charlotte and support the sphere of influence thought leaders in our industry who speak from the podium about our products.

We are a 25 year old privately held company with the last nine consecutive years showing 30%+ annual growth. We are customer, quality and service focused, and are not dependent on venture capital or outside shareholders who might put short-term goals ahead of the big picture.

Our owners are unrelated, aged 57 and 37 and are actively involved in the business. In addition to our Charlotte based sales force, both the CEO and President spend time each year carrying a bag and interacting with customers.

Salvin Dental is the recipient of the North Carolina World Trade Association Governor's International Trade Award, the Gateway Award for international trade and has been recognized multiple times as a Charlotte Business Journal / Pricewaterhouse Coopers / Bank of America Fast 50 company.

This unique position involves representing the company at selected surgical meetings and courses throughout the United States as well as relationship management with industry leaders who recommend our products from clinical podiums.

Our sales model replaces windshield and waiting room time with focused face time with qualified buyers. All of our Key Account Sales Representatives work and travel out of our Charlotte home office.

The position also offers the opportunity to participate in Product Development, Marketing and Brand Management in an energetic company with a well-established brand name.

Our customers are surgical specialists, specifically Oral Surgeons, Periodontists, Prosthodontists, and General Dentists who have taken advanced training to surgically place implants in their practice. These doctors typically represent the top 5% of the profession, and our products are of great interest to them. Our customers purchase directly from us without going through hospital contracts or formularies.

Implant Dentistry is a growing segment of dentistry serving aging baby-boomers who are spending money to look and feel better with over 700,000 implant procedures performed last year.

Our products are used for elective fee for service procedures, and we are relatively immune to shifts in provider reimbursements, which continue to redefine compensation and opportunity in traditional medical and pharmaceutical sales positions.

This is a great opportunity for the ambitious individual who has outgrown spending unproductive windshield or waiting room time. You will be part of a marketing team spending face time in front of groups of qualified, motivated buyers in a professional learning/selling environment with no door to door selling or cold calling. Our ideal candidate knows how to work without filling out a call report and is big-picture driven.

When not attending surgical courses, you will participate in Sales and Marketing projects that help move our company forward, such as catalog and website marketing.  You will also be responsible for completing projects that support your assigned surgical course relationships.

The culture of our company is to interview only proven, top performers, and to select only the elite from that excellent pool of candidates.  Our philosophy has helped us to build one of the most professional sales teams in the industry.

This position has exceptional visibility and opportunity and reports directly to the National Sales Manager of the company.

Ideal Candidate

Qualified Candidates will have a three to five years of dental, medical or related business to business sales with documented successful sales performance. BS or BA degree and computer literacy required. Must be able to demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and resources at once in a fast-paced work environment.  Impeccable references from previous supervisors and logical job transitions will need to be provided during the interview process.
